The Art of Children's Book Illustration

Afternoon

Have you a story from your childhood you'd love to illustrate for your family? Do you want to take your painting skills beyond the tablet into the pages of a book? In this workshop we'll explore the basics and dimensions of illustrating children's tales:

  • Creating characters
  • Making facial expressions
  • Dividing the text dramatically for best page-turning effect
  • Using colors to set the mood or set off the action
  • How illustrators use research and experiment with effects, and more

I look forward to showing you some ways to develop a story you'll be excited to illustrate!
